Race Rock Regatta Cancelled

This afternoon we made the decision to cancel the Race Rock Regatta XX due to the predicted path and timing of Tropical Storm Hanna.

Please watch this blog for updates... we have compiled a Race Program which has a lengthy history of Race Rock Regatta and will be posting this.

About Us

The Race Rock Regatta Fund

Since its inception in 1988, Race Rock Regatta's mission has been to produce a great event that also raises funds for a worthwhile cause. Our original beneficiary was and still is The Sounds Conservancy, dedicated to preserving the coastal waters from Cape Cod to New York. In 1995, the Atlantic Center for the Environment took over the assets and mission of The Sounds Conservancy when that organization's founder, Christopher Percy, retired. Since then, the Atlantic Center has continued its series of publications and manages a grants program to support marine education and research in the region that stretches from Long Island Sound to Nantucket Sound.

Grants up to $2,500 are awarded by the program and are designed especially to support students with marine science research projects. A small portion of funds are available to support local nonprofits with public education and outreach efforts. In addition to the Race Rock Regatta Fund, grants are distributed from three other funds: The Sounds Conservancy Fund, the Charles W. Kitchings Fund and the Norcross Wildlife Fund.
